Children of a Darkened Mind

by Heather E. Kenealy
(About the author)

From the primitive world of LITTLE SISTER'S GUARDIAN to the sunny Southern California college town of WE'LL BE ABLE TO FLY, most of the stories in "Children of a Darkened Mind" focus on the triumph of people who are not expected to triumph, not by the adversaries they face, not by themselves. But, in their determination to do what is right, they discover their own strengths and learn that they are more than they thought. The stories range in genre from fantasy and horror to fairy tales and legend... and our uneasy heroes from suicidal teens to characters from myth and religion. "Children of a Darkened Mind" is about finding the hero within us all.

About the Author:

Insomnia is a wonderful thing when a girl has a laptop. Heather Kenealy, who, as a baby, never slept through the night (and is still waiting), originally began to write stories at age twelve or thirteen when she ran out of books to read.

From comic books to True Crime to Horror, Heather reads everything she can get her hands on, and that probably shows in her writing style. Living in Studio City with her aunt, she currently works as the graveyard clerk in an adult bookstore, which gives her a lot of time to write.

This collection is drawn from some of the mad scribblings that take place at four in the morning, when the nightcrawlers have gone home. Heather dedicates this book to her first editor, her grandfather, her friends, her family, and Steve, who wouldn't let her forget to follow up!
